  • Plan should be drafted and maintained by the CEO:

    • Consultation with the Board to ensure Board defined expectations are met

    • Input from staff to ensure effectiveness, understanding and applicability

  • Plan is Dynamic, not Static. Plan is modified as needed to address unforeseen issues and take advantage of unforeseen opportunities

Board of Directors must must have confidence that:

  • Plan has a good probability of realizing objectives defined by the Board of Directors, efficiently and effectively

  • Plan avoids compromising values defined by the Board of Directors

  • Plan allows for effective monitoring of progress and values protection

  • Business/Operational Plan is the Primary tool of assessing CEO effectiveness
